Walking through the Old City is definitely a proud moment for the Hyderabadis as we can discover classic yet vibrant routes of Hyderabad. Old City is filled with the beautiful sights of Charminar, Mecca Masjid, Chowmahalla Palace, and a shopping arena.

Firstly, walk starts at Charminar. It is symbolically a special monument in Hyderabad built in 1591 by Mohammed Quli Qutb Shahi, the fifth sultan of the Qutub Shahi dynasty. A secret tunnel underneath Charminar, connects Golconda Fort was an escape route for the royal family at times of distress.
Then, proceed to Mecca Masjid, one of the oldest mosques in India founded by Muhammad Quli Qutub Shah, the fifth ruler of Qutub Shahi dynasty. The soil from Mecca was used to make bricks in turn to build the mosque. Mecca Masjid can accommodate more than 10000 people.
Crossing the glittery bazaars of bangles, perfumes, laces, and bridalwear, we reach Clock Tower. It was constructed by Asman Jah Bahadur, a Paigah noble and the prime minister of Hyderabad from 1887 to 1894. This Clock was gifted to the people of this area during that time when wristwatches and wall clocks were rare.
Then, walk to Moti Mahal, a Palace of the Nizams. This building has been serving as a Homeopathic hospital since 1969.
Our next destination is the Palace of a Paigah, a two-storied palace built in the 19th century. The Greek Corinthian pillars and an emblem of the glowing sun at the entrance are its highlights.
We walk to the Palace of Khurshid Jah Bahadur that feature elliptical arches and 40 feet tall Corinthian pillars. Kurshid belonged to Shamsiya family, one of the first noble families in Hyderabad.
Now, Chowmahalla is our final step. It is the Palace of the Nizams who were the richest people in the world of that era. Water fountain, vintage cars, intricate carvings, glass chandeliers and the grand durbar hall enhance the look of palace.
